Louis is Chair of the Firm's International Law Practice Group.

He is also experienced in a wide range of domestic areas of practice, including corporate law, mergers and acquisitions and technology transfers. As such, he is also a member of the Firm's Business Group and Intellectual Property Group.

Louis has practiced law involving international business since 1984. He advises foreign investors on establishing U.S. operations, and assists U.S. clients in penetrating foreign markets through direct investment and foreign representation. Louis has counseled clients on transactions in all the major foreign jurisdictions. He has written and lectured on a variety of international topics, such as international trade finance, NAFTA, selecting foreign representatives, foreign investment in the United States, the Foreign Corrupt Practice Act, U.S. Export Controls, international joint ventures, and establishing offshore manufacturing facilities.

Louis represents clients in a broad range of commercial transactions, including private placements, mergers and acquisitions, intellectual property development and licensing, and product distribution. Applying these fields, Louis regularly works with emerging companies as well as public and private companies which are well established. Since joining the Firm, he has developed a particular practice representing automobile dealers in automotive buy/sells.
