Barbara A. Darkes

Barb is Chair of the Transportation, Distribution and Logistics Group. She also practices in the Litigation, Automotive Dealership, Transportation, Distribution and Logistics, and Liquor License groups. 

She joined the firm in 2000 after serving as counsel to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation for almost seven years.

Barb's practice primarily focuses on representing automobile dealerships in defending consumer protection claims, in litigating franchise disputes, and in regulatory enforcement matters involving various state agencies, including the Department of State, the Department of Transportation, the Department of Revenue, the Department of Banking, the Attorney General's Office, and the Pennsylvania State Police. She represents and counsels clients in general transportation matters, including securing and maintaining federal and state operating authority, defending against sanctions imposed by the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, and providing general advice and representation in driver license and motor vehicle matters. Barb counsels clients in liquor license matters, including the sale and transfer of liquor licenses, completing and submitting applications for liquor licenses, and defending against sanctions imposed by the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board and the Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement. She regularly represents clients in professional licensing matters, including providing assistance in securing licenses, maintaining licenses and defending against various enforcement actions.

Barb participates in several speaking engagements each year. She has spoken to numerous groups, including the Pennsylvania Automotive Association, various chapters of the Pennsylvania Motor Truck Association, the Pennsylvania Recreational Vehicle and Camping Association, the Pennsylvania Manufactured Housing Association, and individual dealer groups. She publishes on automotive dealership, transportation, and liquor license issues. Barb resides in Lebanon, Pennsylvania.
