Shawn practices in the Intellectual Property, Patent Division, and International Law Groups. His practice includes all aspects of intellectual property law including litigation, licensing and patent prosecution. Shawn assists clients in asserting and defending charges of patent, trademark, and copyright infringement and in conducting due diligence analyses for licensing and acquisition of intellectual property. Shawn’s patent prosecution experience includes coatings and their chemical compositions. His prosecution experience also includes preparing and prosecuting applications for fibers and fiber reinforced articles, welding and repair devices and methods, business methods and optical devices.

- Represented major dental equipment manufacturer in defense of patent claim brought by patent licensing company pertaining to a method of manufacturing dental restoration
- Represented major dental equipment manufacturer in defense of action asserting patent and trade secret claims related to dental curing lights
- Represented major power transmission parts supplier asserting claims for infringement of multiple patents, plus trademark infringement and unfair competition against competitor
- Represented church product manufacturer asserting patent infringement claims against national wholesaler
- Represented electronic game call manufacturer asserting copyright claims under Digital Millennium Copyright Act
- Represented a construction supply company defending design patent infringement and related trade dress claims pertaining to brick wall construction supplies
