Harrisburg, PA – Barbara Darkes, a member of McNees Wallace & Nurick LLC, has been selected as a YWCA Tribute to Women of Excellence 2010 award recipient. Darkes practices in the Litigation; Transportation, Distribution and Logistics; and Automotive Dealership groups. The annual event provides an opportunity for local companies and agencies to recognize Central Pennsylvania's leading female professionals and community volunteers.
A graduate of West Chester University and Widener University School of Law, Darkes is a 2007 Leadership Harrisburg Area Graduate and a member of the Pennsylvania and Dauphin County Bar Associations.
The year 2010 marks the 21st year that the YWCA of Greater Harrisburg has hosted the Tribute to Women of Excellence (TWE) event at which over 450 women who have made significant contributions to their communities and/or their companies or organizations have been honored. An awards celebration dinner is planned to take place on March 24 at the Hershey Lodge and Convention Center.
