March 10, 2010 - Social Media as a Business Tool. LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, MySpace . . . You've heard so much about them, but how do you make the most of these digital age tools? Program attendees learned how to maximize the use of social media for their businesses from the Digital Media Manager of Pavone, a local advertising agency. They also learned to identify and avoid the legal pitfalls that have put some businesses at risk.
December 3, 2009 - Wines That Will Change Your Mind: And The Women Behind Them. Attendees joined the McNees Women's Network for this year's wine presentation and to sample wines and cheese from Pennsylvania and beyond. Kimberly Waltz, co-owner of Waltz Vineyards Estate Winery of Lancaster Valley, shared her experience as a woman introducing a new, niche product and overcoming a skeptical audience.
September 23, 2009 - Influential Women Speak on The Secrets of Success. Attendees joined us for a presentation on the Secrets of Success from influential local women: Sharon Ryan, Jewel Cooper, Chris Sears, Tina Nixon and Marion Alexander. This session drew upon the personal experiences of women in Central Pennsylvania who share the challenges and personal satisfaction they experience because they have chosen to be successful.
June 3, 2009 - In The Community. Attendees joined us for a tour and talk with Ruth Koup, Founder and CEO of Dress For Success South Central PA. Women are referred to the organization by partner non-profit programs and government agencies, including homeless shelters, immigration services, and domestic violence shelters that offer training and job ready programs. Each Dress For Success client received one suit and available accessory items for her job interview and was offered the opportunity to return when she gets the job for more separates to start her "working wardrobe."
March 11, 2009 - Get a Mentor, Be a Mentor, or Better Yet: Do Both! The concept of mentoring is not new; in fact, it has its roots in Greek mythology. But recently, there have been promising new twists to this time-honored approach to preparing people for positions of increasing responsibility. In this session, Nancy Dering Martin touched on some of the emerging best practices in mentoring and challenged participants to both have a mentor and be one!

The MWN Women's Network enjoyed an evening of discussion and tasting with experts from the Pennsylvania Wine Society about wine options to pair with traditional holiday fare.
