Adam practices in the Labor and Employment Law and Alcoholic Beverage and Liquor License practice groups.
He provides proactive advice and counsel to both public and private sector employers on a wide range of labor and employment law issues. Adam regularly represents and counsels unionized employers in all aspects of labor relations including collective bargaining and labor arbitration. He also provides counsel to non-unionized employers looking to remain union-free. Adam also represents and counsels employers with respect to all aspects of employment law.
Adam frequently conducts training for clients and participates in several speaking engagements each year. His recent speaking engagements have focused on issues related to social media in the workplace. Adam is also a regular contributor to the McNees labor and employment law blog.
Immediately before joining McNees, Adam served as the Human Resource Director for the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission, an independent Commonwealth agency. He managed all of the human resource programs for the Commission including recruitment, employee training and development, payroll, Family and Medical Leave Act compliance, Equal Employment Opportunity compliance, Americans with Disabilities Act compliance, Civil Service Act compliance, workers' compensation, unemployment compensation, performance management and labor relations. Adam also spent approximately six years with the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections in the Labor Relations Division where he gained valuable experience representing the Department in employee discipline matters, grievance handling and advocacy, meet and discuss sessions, collective bargaining negotiations, interest arbitration proceedings, and labor relations strategic planning and consulting.
